E.T.: The Entrepreneur Test

BossStart says “Phone Home!”

Given our diverse population of readers, we’re not sure that everyone has seen the movie ‘E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial’. Some people may tell you that it’s a story about an alien trying to get home. Others may suggest that E.T. is about a young boy learning to connect. There are countless interpretations of the movie and its characters. Well, here at BossStart, we know exactly what E.T. was about – Entrepreneurship!

Take this quick test to see if you’re as savvy of a entreprenuer as E.T.:

  1. When I’m scared of the unknown I leap out and readily trust others.
  2. I know that, in order to survive, I have to surround myself with great people.
  3. Even when the market and external forces try to attack my efforts, I push forward and believe with great vigor.
  4. I’m willing to sacrifice it all to accomplish my passion.
  5. I devote time to dreaming about that which may not seem possible today.
  6. I realize, at the end of the day, it’s about connecting with others (regardless of what business I’m in).

Next year, E.T. turns 30 years old. I can’t believe how much he’s taught us about running a healthy business. If you can’t answer those 6 questions with a passionate ‘YES’ – you haven’t found your inner E.T…

Now pop a bag of popcorn and take a moment to watch this movie with a new perspective.
